Let’s take a look at a few fishing tips on how to have fun and spend quality time fishing with kids. There is no set answer on this and you will find it vary from one child to the next. This should include a first aid kit because whenever you have kids you have potential accidents. Your kids tackle box should be small and lightweight so they can easily handle it. Stock it with some bobbers, free light hooks, a couple of weights, and small scissors to cut their line.

Innovation, variety and nostalgia make this hobby rewarding. During the golden age of fishing tackle, the late 20th century, small lure manufacturers dominated the industry. Most lures were regional contraptions, made in some hardy soul’s garage or basement. They were designed to be cast with the crude level-wind reels and stiff rods of the time, and were generally heavy, and ran in shallow water, or were fished top water.

The truth is that there are some bass fishing lures that are better than others. As a very general fly fishing flies rule water temperatures above 80 degrees and below 50 degrees tend to make fish less active, so fishing in these conditions certainly wouldn’t be the best. The action that the buck tail provides underwater is unmatched by any synthetic material. Soft plastic jerk baits, such as the Slug-o, are very effective bass lures. Fishing soft plastic jerk baits over a weed bed is a great way to catch hungry largemouth bass. This bait looks as much like a live shad as I think an artificial bait can. The KickTail minnow is an extremely effective bass bait, and should be a part of every bass fisherman’s repertoire.

When selecting what clothing to wear on the river, comfort is key. In winter months, cold weather is a constant. Temperatures at Teton Valley Lodge along the river can be -30, while Grand Targhee Ski Resort, fifteen miles up the mountain, will be 0 at the same time of day. You must wear fingerless gloves so you have control over your line. The fleece gloves retain heat even when wet and dry easily. Summer clothing has advanced a lot over the past few years.
